We would like to congratulate Renata Gianchou, our Practice Manager, for taking out the award for Australian Veterinary Business Association (AVBA) Business Manager of the Year for 2014. Renata received this award recently in Melbourne at the Annual AVBA Business Conference. It was a surprise to Renata that she was nominated by her workplace. Her high level of commitment and accountability not only from herself, but by the team that she manages was one of the leading factors for nomination and consideration for this award. “It was an absolute honour to not only find out that I was nominated but then to actually win. I am a very positive person and very passionate about my role within the hospital. Having been at Canberra Veterinary Hospital for 18 years, I have seen the hospital grow and provide the level of care that all animals and their owners deserve. I also wish for our staff to feel and have this same passion. A Manager’s role can be very demanding and you are required to wear a number of different hats. From making magic rosters, recruiting, developing policies and procedures, coaching and developing staff, to general maintenance, these are all areas that I am involved with and very passionate about.”
