Peptosyl
PEPTOSYL is an non-antibiotic antidiarrhoeal suspension used as an aid in the treatment of gastroenteritis and diarrhoea in dogs and horses. It lines the mucosal surface, adsorbs toxic compounds and has protective, antacid and antiseptic properties. It is non-toxic, will not cause bacterial resistance to develop, decreases water loss and may also help reduce the pain of inflammatory bowel diseases.
Dosage and administration: Horses 0.5-1.0ml/kg bodyweight orally. Dogs 0.25-0.5ml/kg. Repeat every 6 hours for 36 hours, and then at 12 hour intervals for a further 2-3 days.
Composition: Bismuth salicylate 17.5mg/ml, bentonite.
Withholding Periods: Meat; Horses - 28 days.
Presentation: Suspension: 200ml, 1L, 4.5L.
